A spectacular short Truind walk for hikers with an amphitheater view of Mon Peak and the Dhaula Dhar. A gentle rise through pine and rhododendron woodland leads to Triund, where you may camp on a meadow with views of the Dhaula-Dhar range above and the Kangra valley below. The Triund trip is getting a little crowded these days, so we camp just short of Truind to catch a spectacular sunrise as we walk up to Truind the next morning.
The trek begins at Bhagsu’s central square and proceeds to the market and the Bhagsunag temple. The famed Bhagsu waterfall is also on the route. For a fit person, the whole time to reach Karthani camp is three hours. It is a moderately demanding hike. Our campsite in Karthani is around 2700 meters above sea level and about 1.2 kilometers from Triund.
The trek provides a panoramic view of Bhagsu Village, McLeodganj, Dharamsala Valley, Kangra Valley lowlands, and the Shivalik Hills in the distance. Triund is a large grassy region resembling a pasture. The fearsome may be seen just over the eyes. Arrive at the campground and spend the night. There is also a campfire accessible.
After breakfast, stroll up to the main Triund for half an hour to see the dawn. Spend some time and descend to Mcleodganj through Galu and Dharamkot. The whole hiking time is four hours.
